As your life changes, so does your diabetes management!
The American Diabetes Association and the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists say that there are four critical times for diabetes education:
1) At diagnosis
2) Yearly and/or when not meeting treatment targets (A1c, time in range, hypoglycemia)
3) When complications arise
4) When transitions in life or care occur (for example, you just graduated college and are entering the workforce for the first time OR you are changing from 2nd to 3rd shift at work OR you are now a caregiver for a loved one)
Basically, there is NO WRONG time for diabetes education.
You will need to be in a secure location where you can talk freely - anywhere in the state of Texas. You will need access to a computer or laptop with a webcam and speakers or a smartphone with a camera. You will also need email access and stable internet. Please let us know if you have challenges with any of these requirements so we can find an alternative solution. If you have learning differences or auditory, visual or language concerns please contact our office so that can be addressed ahead of your appointment time.
*For your safety we ask that you are not driving any motorized vehicle during your education session. If this is the case, we will ask that you pull over to a safe location during your appointment time or reschedule.*
